Homework

11/16/17

A Robot's Life

DIRECTIONS: REREAD Robot Lessons in the Time for Kids Magazine. (p.6) Keep track of details that express the traits of robot tutors. For example, in paragraph 2, the author describes the robots as engaging, patient, and adaptable.  Next, write a short story about a robot tutor. You should set your story in the FUTUR, when rotot tutors are commonplace (very often seen/observed/used) in schools.

BEFORE you begin writing the story in your journal, fill out your graphic organizer. Remember to:

a) give your robot a name

b) decide on at least one other character to include in the story.

Conflict/Problem - Choose a conflict that the tutor faces. For example, you may choose to write about a robot who wants to become a human, or who has trouble helping the students.

INCLUDE: Dialogue, and a clear beginning, middle and end.

(DRAFT goes in your Writer's Notebook.)

Lastly, illustrate your story. Take a picture of each illustration and put it in Photobooth. Use these pictures when your make your story.

FINAL DRAFT in PAGES.
