Are Monday and Friday normal school days?
Yes. We look forward to seeing you.
When is the work stoppage planned?
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.
Is there child care available at Melrose?
No. School is closed due to lack of staff members. However, child care is available at these school sites: https://achieve.lausd.net/Page/19066
Are meals available?
Yes, at this grab and go sites meals will be provided for all three days of the strike: https://achieve.lausd.net/schoolupdates/food
Is there any work that students need to complete during the work stoppage?
No. However, if you are looking for suggested activities Mr. Needleman recommends reading a book and completing 30 minutes of Dreambox a day. Students might also explore any of the web sites available through Clever.com…amplify reading, Renaissance Learning, etc. The district also offers additional activities if you are looking for them.
Will this impact my child's attendance?
No it will not. School is closed so you are not counted as absent.
Can I call the main office if I need technical support or have other questions?
Yes, we will try to help you if you call between 7:30am-2:30pm at 323-938-6275. If we cannot help you, you may need to call district tech support 213-443-1300.
