High Frequency Words

Students should leave first grade reading all high frequency words on List A-H. Students should start with list A, once they are able to read 95% or higher, they should move on to list B. Students should follow this procedure for the remainder of the lists. Fun games to play at home to help students memorize the words are Go Fish and Memory. A good resource to look at of other activities for sight word practice is:

Students should be reading 20 minutes daily from their book buddies and recording this in their reading log. Students can also practice phonics work using the Reading Amplify website on their iPads.

Students should practice Dreambox for 15-20 minutes daily. Please see the Eureka Math Tips for Parents to see what you can do at home.
