Dear Melrose Parents,

I am writing to share that I have been selected as Director, Common Core Technology for LAUSD. I will be part of a team that will roll out a tablet/technology 1:1 program for every student in LAUSD. This means that I will be leaving Melrose to start in the new position effective July 1, 2013.

I want to say that there are no words to express the depth of my gratitude and affection for you. I tell you constantly that you are the most extraordinary group of parents that anyone could ask for. You are a school’s and principal’s dream. I mean that from the depths of my soul and heart.

Leaving Melrose is extremely difficult for me...personally and professionally. I adore your children, my staff, and my parents. Our village is a magical place that I am so deeply proud of being a part of for the last six years. Melrose is a huge part of me. 

I know that there are many questions regarding the next principal and what will happen to the initiatives that we are starting. Please know that Melrose is my baby. I will do everything in my power to ensure that our school is protected and perfectly taken care of because our students deserve nothing less.

I will hold a special meeting to discuss updates and next steps.

But, (right now) I just want you to know how incredibly special you are to me. Thank you for (1) what you have done for this school and (2) helping me evolve as an educator and leader. I will miss your children and you desperately.

Seeding Day 2012
Its that time of the year again...
Melrose Students planted radishes, lettuce, broccoli, snap peas and bok choy this fall. In a few months it will all be ready to harvest.
Please walk by the gardens after school to see them grow.
